Double Maker Coffee on Margaret Street is a Brisbane café that pulls together solid coffee craft with a menu that easily covers breakfast through lunch. It’s the kind of spot where the daily rhythm feels bustling but familiar – locals dropping in for a quick caffeine fix or lingering over more substantial bites. The space suits a casual outing, whether you're catching up with friends or looking to ease into your morning routine.

Coffee is clearly a focus here, with options that go beyond the usual. The coffee tasting flights allow you to sample different brews without committing to one, which appeals to those who enjoy exploring subtle flavour variations. For those after a refreshing twist, the iced matcha and the peanut butter latte stand out as more unusual picks that have garnered attention. The generous serving sizes mean you can appreciate the coffee slowly, ideal for relaxed mornings or calm afternoons.

The kitchen balances familiar breakfast classics with some inventive dishes that reflect a fusion vibe – think Korean chicken sandwiches or bulgolgi beef benedicts beside avocado toast and scrambled eggs. The creamy prawn pasta and mushroom pasta add a comforting, hearty element to the lunch menu, well matched to the café’s unpretentious yet thoughtful approach. The occasional sweet treat like a tiramisu croffle or banana bread rounds out the offering nicely.

During busy times, especially around weekend brunch hours, expect a lively atmosphere with a steady flow of customers from around the city. Service is noted as friendly and efficient, which helps keep busy periods enjoyable rather than frazzling. The vibe is informal but well-paced, making it a fitting stop if you want a reliable café experience that includes good coffee, satisfying meals, and a welcoming local crowd.

This is a place for those who appreciate coffee as much as their food, value a roomy menu with both comfort and a few adventurous flavours, and prefer a café that feels integrated into Brisbane’s city pulse rather than overly curated or staged. Mid-mornings to early afternoons on weekdays might be best for quieter visits, while weekends deliver a more animated social buzz.

Heard about this place from friends, finally got to visit. Incredibly creamy and rich pasta, fav had to be the peanut butter latte! Definitely recommend as a nice outing option.

This café is one of those spots where both the flavour and the overall experience leave a lasting impression. The burgers were delicious – juicy, well-balanced, and full of flavour – while the coffee came in a generous serve that didn’t just taste great but also felt like real value. It’s the kind of place where you can sit back and enjoy every sip without feeling rushed. What makes it stand out even more is the artistic touch throughout the café. The artwork on display adds a creative edge to the space, making it feel vibrant and inspiring rather than just another coffee stop. Pair that with plenty of outdoor seating, and you’ve got a setting that’s just as enjoyable for a quick bite as it is for a leisurely afternoon. A particularly thoughtful detail was the staff’s friendliness in encouraging guests to keep using the outdoor tables, even after some time had passed. That welcoming approach really adds to the sense of community and makes you want to come back. With great food, strong coffee, and a warm, artistic atmosphere, this café captures what locals love about Brisbane’s café culture. It’s definitely a place worth bookmarking for a return visit.

Great spot to start your day. I got a coffee flight, which was a great way to sample their coffee without committing to a single drink! The DM breakfast was also tasty and filling, love the variety!

I’m absolutely blown away! I’ve been here twice, and everything was incredibly delicious — the quality and taste are truly 10/10. I loved the peanut butter latte and the prawn & egg sando, but my definite highlight was the mapo pasta! One of the most extraordinary and delicious pastas I’ve ever had — a must-try!

Really nice place that has a nice sando and coffee. Just really crowded and busy. Which is good for them. Very friendly faces and great services

Their sandos are a must-try which is fresh, flavourful and generously filled. The drink selection is good. Mornings can get quite busy, especially around peak breakfast hours, so be prepared for a bit of a wait.

Absolutely loved everything we had! The BBQ pork belly croissant was packed with juicy pork! The creamy mushroom pasta and the avocado sourdough was super good! Not sure if it was the manager or the owner, but the service was absolutely incredible — so kind and welcoming! I’ll definitely be back!

On a recent work trip I ate breakfast there every day for a week. Incredible food, great coffee. One of the best cafe’s I have visited in ages. Highly recommended.
